Story.
This is an interview he did with Spiegel.
Let’s go through this interview and give a few excerpts from Jimmy Carter. Once again these are comments made to a foreign newspaper, and yet he has the gall to say it is Bush’s fault that the world hates us, if he would shut his hypocritical pie hole maybe we could get some traction back, but with asses like him spouting the same anti-American slogans that the terrorists scream as they behead innocent people…….
But I digress, we’ll get to that.
When asked if comments he had made earlier suggested, “….that the current US administration of George W. Bush of acting immorally?”
He dodged by saying, “There's no doubt that this administration has made a radical and unpressured departure from the basic policies of all previous administrations including those of both Republican and Democratic presidents.”
What? How does that answer the question? Get off your liberal talking points and answer the question. “unpressured”? I know you are old, but 9/11 kinda put pressure on us all.
“Our country always had a policy of not going to war unless our own security was directly threatened and now we have a new policy of going to war on a preemptive basis.”
Yes, that means kill them BEFORE they ram airplanes into more buildings. He then rips on separation of church and state, he doesn’t say what the problem he has is, just, “…which I describe in the book.” Oh, this is a book tour interview. Followed by basic justice which, “…..I described in the book.”
He is then asked, “You also mentioned the hatred for the United States throughout the Arab world which has ensued as a result of the invasion of Iraq. Given this circumstance, does it come as any surprise that Washington's call for democracy in the Middle East has been discredited?”
Well the first part isn’t so much a question, but a statement, maybe German interviews are differe……Nevermind, our MSM people do it too. Ok back to the answers.
He says he thinks things are worse with, “….the United States supporting and encouraging Israel in its unjustified attack on Lebanon.”
What? Unjustified? HMMM…What am I starting to smell here, maybe a little anti-Semitism creeping into the conversation? I know your thinking, but Israel was attacked first! This is so obvious even the interviewer figures out to ask it.
“I don't think that Israel has any legal or moral justification for their massive bombing of the entire nation of Lebanon. What happened is that Israel is holding almost 10,000 prisoners, so when the militants in Lebanon or in Gaza take one or two soldiers, Israel looks upon this as a justification for an attack on the civilian population of Lebanon and Gaza. I do not think that's justified, no.”
Let me flip through the book here…one sec…..here it is, page 157 in the Hezbollah answers guide, “They have 10,000 of our peace loving, bridge building, supercallifragilistic(sp?) people. We just wanted 2 of their hate-mongering anti-Islamic bastards.” I see someone has been studying the jihadist manual.
He is then asked if the US is still important for mid-east peace.
“This administration has not attempted at all in the last six years to negotiate or attempt to negotiate a settlement between Israel and any of its neighbors or the Palestinians.”
Quick question dodge then there we go back on the anti-Bush rantings. Have you ever notice that Liberals love to mention Bush One when ripping into the President. As though that somehow makes it all right, “No I am not a liberal Bush hater, I mentioned his father’s name.” Actually, the UN was supposed to be enforcing the paperwork for the area.
He is then asked about possible solutions (This was done before the U(seless)N resolution.)
“….And I think they should declare an immediate cease-fire on both sides, Hezbollah said they would comply, I hope Israel will comply….”
Well the terrorists said they would do it, and we know we can trust them, if only those sneaky Jews would do it too. The smell is getting stronger!!
Asked about German soldiers participating in a peacekeeping mission, ”... even with their history?”
“Yes. That would be certainly satisfactory to me personally, and I think most people believe that enough time has passed so that historical facts can be ignored.”
There’s the smell, good and strong now. “…historical facts can be ignored.” So we can just ignore the holocaust? How much time needs to pass to just ignore 9/11, or 7/7? This single statement completely suns up the liberals entire point of….
IGNORE THE FACTS THAT DO NOT WORK WITH YOUR POLITICS
But wait there’s more….
Asked about how a christian government could allow “…Abu Ghraib and torture in Guantanamo?”
“The fundamentalists believe they have a unique relationship with God, and that they and their ideas are God's ideas and God's premises on the particular issue. Therefore, by definition since they are speaking for God anyone who disagrees with them is inherently wrong. And the next step is: Those who disagree with them are inherently inferior, and in extreme cases -- as is the case with some fundamentalists around the world -- it makes your opponents sub-humans, so that their lives are not significant. Another thing is that a fundamentalist can't bring himself or herself to negotiate with people who disagree with them because the negotiating process itself is an indication of implied equality. And so this administration, for instance, has a policy of just refusing to talk to someone who is in strong disagreement with them -- which is also a radical departure from past history. So these are the kinds of things that cause me concern. And, of course, fundamentalists don't believe they can make mistakes, so when we permit the torture of prisoners in Guantanamo or Abu Ghraib, it's just impossible for a fundamentalist to admit that a mistake was made.”
Is it just me or did he describe perfectly the Islamic extremists? He is describing American Christians as though we go around killing people because they don’t believe the way we do. I don’t remember seeing any Jehovah Witnesses with bombs strapped to their bike. You are currently number one on my worse Americans ever list.
The interview goes on to talk about Cuba, his failed presidency, and the upcoming elections. One other thing that got me was when the interviewer said, “You've been called the moral conscience of your country.”
Luckily, like everything that comes out of his mouth, it just ain’t true. |
